ADJUSTING IDLE SPEED for Early Porsche 944
Adjusting Requirements
Idle speed specification: 900 ± 50 rpm.
Engine must be in perfect running condition.
Run engine to operating temperature (oil temperature approx. 80° C/176° F).
Turn regulating screw or bypass screw on throttle housing until specified speed is
reached.
N o t e
Fan motor and a/c compressor must be switched off during adjustments. Make adjustments as
quickly as possible to prevent intake ports from becoming too hot, to avoid false CO
reading.
